Chesapeake and Ohio Canal – Wildlife

I always keep my eye open for Mother Nature’s animals and plants. Occasionally while I am marveling at the scenery, I am able to photograph the wildlife. Here are a few I found along the C&O Canal.

I find small birds particularly difficult to photograph. Locating them by their song is a challenge, finding their small bodies amidst the screening limbs and leaves requires patience, and they tend to flit from place to place frequently and rapidly. I do sometimes succeed however, as in this next photo.
