A graceful bridge crosses a pond located between the Sunken Gardens and the statue of Diana in a classical temple.  If you look carefully you will notice small elves racing around the base of the tree.

Alfred Victor du Pont, son of Alfred I. du Pont, constructed the Sunken Gardens of Italian travertine with Carrara marble statues by French sculptor Charles Sarrabezolles.

The bronzes in the pool and the wall fountains along the side of the Sunken Gardens are the work of Claude Grange.
